Friends of Liberty is pleased to host Ms. Ellen Weaver, the Republican nominee for South Carolina’s State Superintendent of Education.
A South Carolina native, Ellen began her career working for U.S. Senator Jim DeMint. In 2013, they partnered to launch Palmetto Promise Institute, South Carolina’s premier free-market public policy research and solutions organization. Since then, she has been fighting for smaller government, less regulation, and conservative policies that enhance our freedoms.
Principles of Ellen’s plan for educational excellence include:
• Flexibility – empower parents, cut red tape and focus on students; support for Educational Savings Accounts
• Responsibility – High-quality education with focus on academic outcomes
• Fairness – Equal access to opportunities for every student
